Itinerary:
Day 1: Arequipa – Chivay – Cruz del condor – Pampa San Miguel – San Juan de Chuccho
Between 03:00 am and 03:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel, from where we will depart for the Colca Canyon. After a drive of approximately four hours, we will arrive at Chivay, the main town in the valley, where we will make a brief stop to eat breakfast before continuing our trip to the Cruz del Condor (2 hours approx.), from where we have one of the most beautiful views of the Colca Canyon and from where we can usually see the impressive flight of condors. We continue to Pampa San Miguel (20 minutes approx.), from where we will begin our descent to the base of the Colca Canyon. During the route we will have spectacular views of the canyon. Crossing a bridge, we’ll arrive in the village of San Juan de Chuccho, where we will be able to rest and eat lunch, while enjoying the beauty of the mountains, at a restaurant run by families from the village. We will continue our hike as far as Cosnihua, which is a walk of approximately one hour along a steep trail, followed by a more level section to the small village of Malata, where you can enjoy a refreshing bathe in the local pools. Here, we will eat our evening meal and spend the night in basic cabins.

Day 2: Oasis – Cabanaconde – Chivay – Arequipa
At 04:30 am we will begin the ascent, along a steep and zigzagging trail. After approximately three hours we will have the satisfaction of completing this beautiful route. We’ll have breakfast in a local restaurant and then board our vehicle and head for the viewing point at Cruz del Condor and we will then return to Chivay, and have the option of visiting the La Calera thermal baths. Lunch and return to Arequipa, arriving in the city between 05:00 pm and 06:00 pm.
