Itinerary:
Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Lake Humantay – Cusco
Our journey will begin at 4:30 am as we head for the village of Mollepata, where we can enjoy a buffet breakfast before continuing to Challacancha, appreciating along the way views of Mount Humantay in the Vilcabamba range. Arriving at Soraypampa, we will take a brief rest before continuing to the start of our walk, which will last for around 2 hours (7 km), taking us from an altitude of 3900 meters to 4200 meters. During the walk, we will be able to appreciate views to one side of Mount Humantay, and on the other side of Mount Salkantay. We will then return to our camp (1 hour) for lunch and free time to take photographs and rest, before finally returning to Soraypampa and starting our return journey to Cusco. We will arrive in the city at approximately 6:30 pm, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
